Must have...

Aren't these the cutest tea towels? I think I need them for the trailer! I like the linen ones too. I found them at Poppytalk. It's a little like Etsy...a handcrafters paradise.

More new layouts

A few more layouts finished!
As I flip through the pages, it is nice to begin to see the colours coming together and the theme emerging.

I've been using the same typewriter letter stamps from Close to My Heart and I really like the way it pulls everything together from page to page...and it's a lot cheaper than sticker letters!

I love the way the horseback riding pages turned out. Don't you LOVE this paper from Cosmo Cricket??? I bought it a long time ago just cause I loved it and it was on sale. Who would have thought the colour and theme would be perfect?

Okay....stock cars really don't thrill me. So it was a challenge to do something with all these car pictures. But I knew it was important to Brad and the boys.
This collage look is my favourite way to get lots of pictures on one spread.

Alrighty....stay tuned...more to come!
Bit of a snowstorm today....perfect for scrapping.

The Beginning of a New Album

I've been trying for about 4 months now to start this new album of our month long trip this past summer. I know if I don't get moving on it, I won't remember all those little details that I wanted to journal about.

Part of the problem was finding just the right album. I finally found a K&Co. album on sale at Michaels. The thing I like about it is that it comes with all kinds of accessories to go with it....ribbons, mat pads, sticker letters etc. I really wanted that cohesive look through out the whole album...so it was perfect!

I find it hard to find papers that aren't too feminine or flowery. Although that is probably what I'm drawn to, I don't think my boys would approve!.

I wish I had taken more actual travel picture. I just had a couple . But I was able to fit my list of car plates that we saw along the way!

I really love this paper....I think it makes the
whole page! I have been trying to do more
pages with few pictures to allow more space
around them. My usual style would be to
cram as many pics as I can on a page!

This was another tricky one...it covered quite a few pictures of stalactites etc. that I didn't think the majority of people would find that exciting....but our memories just the same. I think the circles kind of make it a bit more interesting.

I really like the way this page turned out. I like the mix of all the different papers...almost collage like. And I really like how it's on a bit of an angle...I'm going to have to try that again on another page.

That's it for now....gonna keep plugging away at this...I'll keep you posted!

New and Improved Craft Room

Good things are happening in my craft room... a major overhaul, clean out and organization!

I still wouldn't mind a few more pieces to help me get everything where it needs to be. But it is a whole lot better.

I keep finding neat little "do-dad" that I have forgotten I even had. So, do I have too much stuff? I think not...I just need to have everthing in it's place, so when I need it, I can see that my options are!

My new desk is from Ikea, which matched the bookcase I had bought previously. I also purchased the shelves above the desk for a place to keep all the little trinkets so they will be close at hand. The glass jars (a steal from HomeSense) are filled with bits of ribbon, and smaller sheets of stickers. Smaller jars are from Ikea and hold all my markers. Twist open cannisters are from the dollars store and hold all the little wee things like brads and eyelets, buttons and metal embellishments.

Boxes on the top shelf hold cards ready to send and tags. Top shelf jars hold all the little do dads and trinkets.

I decided to keep my little sewing corner....not that I do that much, but it is set up and ready to go if I need to do some mending, or want to do some sewing on my cards or scrapbook layouts.
The old sewing maching table drawers hold all my thread, needles etc.

Love, love, love my Ikea bookshelf. It holds a ton of stuff. And I love that Ikea has all the right sized boxes and organizers to keep everthing in. This stores all my loose photos, paper, various supplies, and of course magazines and books. I think I'd like to add one more of these eventually. The space on top is great for holding all the things I'm working on at present. The wire baskets are old locker baskets from the antique store.

I love the bulletin board my mama made for me. It is the kind with the criss cross ribbons and holds a kzillion and one photos. On the dresser top is an old berry picker with all the old berry baskets inside. This has been perfect for storing spools of ribbon.

So there ya go...my work space. And now that it is all tidy again, I feel like getting back at my albums!

Faith Card

Here's a stamp I love from Unity
They have some great "Faith Stamps", as well as some really unique modern designs. Check 'em out.
I used a template to cut the patterned paper, which I sewed on with the sewing machine. Zig zagged another floral print on top. Used measuring tape stickers at top and bottom, then attached three buttons.

Good finds...

We took a quick jaunt to the 400 Flea Market yesterday. I left the boys in the market and headed for the much more exciting antique section. I never get tired of looking at antiques...and the inventory seemed quite different from the last time I was there.
Here's what I found...
A beautiful old English soap dish, which will probably end up being used for everything but soap! I can just see it crashing down into the sink when one of the boys grabs for the bar!
Next I found another set of S&P shakers with button tops...those are the only variety I go for. I think that makes for 8 pairs now. They are a little tricky to find. In all my antiquing in Pennsylvania, I have never seen a pair...they must be English as well.
Anyway...it is quite amazing how a few little old things can make a girls to happy!
Happy Sunday everyone.

Wow....it is well into January and I haven't blogged since before Christmas. I haven't been doing nearly as many crafty things as I did before Christmas. I really have quite a bit of scrapbooking I'd like to get into...I think that will be next for me.
Meanwhile, my girlfriend Jane asked me to create a centrepiece for her mother in laws kitchen table. She is always happy to allow me to do my thing...not to many specifications....which makes it so nice. So here it is. Hope she likes it!
